Celal Erbay, Ph.D candidate (ECE) and his co-authors has published “Three-dimensional porous carbon nanotube sponges for high-performance anodes of microbial fuel cells” in Journal of Power Sources. Celal’s supervisor is Dr. Arum Han, Associate Professor (ECE), Director of NanoBio Systems Lab, and collaborator of the Smart Grid Center.
On August 18, 2015 at the ECE Dinner, Payman Dehghanian was awarded the ‘Best PhD Student Award’ from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received this award for his outstanding performance during his Ph.D. program. Payman’s graduate research supervisor is Dr. Mladen Kezunovic, Webb professor (ECE), Smart Grid Center Director. New research funding has been awarded to Dr. Jose Silva-Martinez (PI), Professor at ECE and Dr. Aydin Karsilayan (Co-PI), Associate Professor at ECE. The project is titled, “Single-Chip CMOS “Brain” for GaN/GaAs Power Amplifiers” and will go from April 2015 – September 2016. This research is funded by Sandia National Laboratories.
