Newly Approved 3-Year Project

2014 Outstanding Reviewers

Payman Dehghanian and Po-Chen Chen, PhD candidates, were both recognized for being Outstanding Reviewers in 2014. This award is for those who have demonstrated exceptional review work in 2014. Payman was recognized for his work with the Elsevier Journal of Energy.     Po-Chen Chen was recognized for his work with IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery. 

IEEE Region 5 Award Recipient

Payman Dehghanian, PhD candidate, is this year’s recipient of the IEEE Region 5 Outstanding Individual Award. Region 5 covers all the IEEE activities in the Southwestern US and includes 8 states (Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Wyoming). Within Region 5, there are more than 23,000 higher grade members and over 3600 student members.

Upcoming Information Science and Systems Seminar

On Friday, there will be a seminar hosted by Information Science and Systems (ISS). The speaker is Professor A.J. Han Vinck from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. The title of the seminar is “General Thoughts About Power Line Communications”. The seminar will take place on March 27 at 10am in 236C WEB.

Smart Grid Workshop 2015 Registration

The registration for the 2015 Smart Grid Workshop is open now. This year’s theme is “Challenges in Evaluating Smart Grid Solutions: Metric, Testing, Certification, Modeling and Simulation, and Testbeds”. The workshop will be held on April 21 in the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University.
