b Professor at TAMU, and Glauco Taranto, Professor at COPPE/Federal University of Rio de Janeirois, are leading the international collaborative research titled “Development of Advanced Open-Source PMU/PDC Lab and Applications with Synchronized Data Obtained from Simulation and Actual Power Network.” The development of a more precise synchrophasor technology will help to avoid and mitigate power system blackouts by improving monitoring, control and protection of the electric grid.
