Dr. Le Xie had the opportunity to answer questions regarding how his team created the data hub to track how the pandemic has affected U.S. electricity usage on KBTX news on December 14, 2020. Data hub is called COVID-EMDA+, which stands for electricity market data aggregation, which combines five primary data domains from electricity markets. According to Dr Xie, it offers unique capability for conducting more comprehensive statistical and correlational studies. It also presents human mobility data correlated with electricity use in certain areas. Dr. Le Xie is professor at Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Texas A&M University.
