The Qatar National Research Foundation will be awarding PI, Dr. Mladen Kezunovic (Professor,ECE, TAMU, Director, SGC), as well as Co-PI, Dr. Haitham Abu-Rub (Professor, ECE, TAMU-Qatar, Managing Director, SGC-Qatar), a grant for their research on “Integration of Solar Generation and Electrical Vehicles Into The Smart Grid”. Starting on February 1, 2016, Texas A&M University at Qatar will be working closely on this project and the project will last three years, focusing mainly on engineering and technology, more specifically, electrical, electronic, and information engineering and their automation and control systems. This project aims at investigating the potential benefit from integration of Electrical vehicles (EVs) and photovoltaic (solar) generation into smart grid.
