IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Award

dehgPaymen Dehghanian, a Ph.D. candidate at the ECE, received the 2016 IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Electrical Safety Prevention through Design Student Engineering Education Initiative Award, for the 3rd year in a row. His previous awards were received in 2014 in San Diego, CA, and in 2015 in Louisville, Kentucky. This year he will be presenting the “weather-driven predictive risk assessment of power system operation for electric safety” in the upcoming Electric Safety Workshop going to be held March 7-11, 2016 in Jacksonville, Florida.  This student program awards talented and promising students who have a passion for electrical safety by subsidizing travel, lodging and registration for participation in the IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Workshop. Being accepted as a recipient is an honor and will provide him with an opportunity to uniquely participate in the workings that shape the future of our electrical safety culture.ESW Awards_Payman_Ahad_2016 March 8

Payman Dehghanian and Ahad Esmaeilian, PhD candidates advised by Prof. Kezunovic, were among the recipients of the “ESW 2016 Prevention through Design Student Engineering Education Initiative”. They
were awarded during the IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Electric Safety Workshop (ESW) on March 8, 2016 at Jacksonville, Florida.
