Outstanding Young Engineering Award from IEEE PES- Dr. Xie

Le_XieDr. Le Xie, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been awarded the 2017 Outstanding Young Engineering Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power & Energy Society (PES) for his contribution to the power systems analytics research and leadership in big data.

The award recognizes researchers like Xie, who are 35 years of age or under, for their leadership in technical society activities, community involvement and significant engineering achievements. Each year only one member is selected from the global IEEE PES community. Xie received a $2,000 scholarship, a plaque and a travel stipend of up to $1,000 to attend the PES meeting and awards ceremony, which will be held in July in Chicago. He will dedicate the scholarship to support the undergraduate program at Texas A&M.
