A 2020 TEES Engineering Genesis Award was received by Prasad Enjeti, Ph.D., TI Professor III in Analog Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for his involvement in the project “Secure Monitoring and Control of Solar Power Distribution System Through Dynamic Watermarking.”
The Engineering Genesis Award is presented to researchers that receive significant research grants fo $1 million or more. Dr. Le Xie (PI), Dr. Enjeti, and Dr. Kumar all received this award since the US Department of Energy granted their project, “Secure Monitoring and Control of Solar Power Distribution System Through Dynamic Watermarking,” $4.4 million dollars to design and test a scalable, robust, and online framework that provides secure monitoring of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation in the presence of potential cyberattacks in the distribution grid.
